learning with my kids from potty training to big kid bed

Well i wanted to blog my experience and the Joy's and the difficulties of Parenting.

For my first post about this I wanted to talk about the Joy's and Difficulties of potty training and putting our kids from a crib to a big kid bed.

With our daughter Rachel for a example I was able to start potty training her when she was 10 months old (She was walking at 8 months) whenever I had to go pee I would put her on the potty and put her on her potty to go pee. This ended up worked most of the time. by the time she was 18 months she was completely potty trained. We put her in her big girl bed at 15 months. We had a bit of up and downs with her but she learns things very fast we have found. We only need to show her once and she gets it.

Our son Luke on the other hand he isn't as fast as she is when it comes to learning, but we still like giving him a chance and keep teaching him things to help him grow. I have started working with him on Potty Training. He is having a bit of difficulties understanding why I want him to sit on this weird looking thing. I must say i haven't been able to work on it as much as I would like to. I am going to get back on track with him though and helping him become a big boy.

For Luke going into a Crib to a big kid bed, I want to say I am sure we could of left him in his crib for longer and after last night I wish we did, with that being said we are strong believers in teaching our kids to do things for things for themselves and treating them a bit older then they are.The reason we decided he was ready for a big boy bed was because he is a big boy height wise lol and we know he can climb up down beds properly and we felt that not only were we ready to teach him, but he was ready to learn how to be a big boy. With that being said his first night went okay, I ended up having to lay in bed with him until he fell asleep and then he slept the whole night all by himself. When he woke up he came running into our room and you could tell he felt like such a big boy. His Second night well was a bit of challenge for you because I couldn't get him to nap during the day he ended up going to bed at 6:30pm all by himself with that being said he did wake me up this morning at 3:30am and I let him play for a bit on the Ipad and then he went back to bed around 4:30am. Wee then ended up waking up late this morning at 9:00am.

I know this week is going to be very challenging with him that is why I am up for the challenge knowing I am going to be tired and cranky myself. With that being said I know it will be well worth it
