Kids Clothes – Tips and Tricks to Get them Cheap

For anyone that has or had kids can testify to the mass amount of money that they can take to raise them. I'm not saying this to change anyone's opinion on having kids, but it is a fact and a fact we need to pay attention to. There are a few things that we can do to make sure we save money during this. One of the largest expenses for raising kids is kids clothing. With how fast kids grow it's not abnormal to be buying new sizes several times a year. Let's look at a few ways to help keep these costs down.

Friends and Family - Always ask your friends and family if they know anyone who has "hand me downs", most parents have been through this and completely understand and have no problems giving away old clothes. With this being said, pay it forward - once you are done with the clothes, consider giving them to someone in need.

Mom2Mom Sales - Mom2Mom sales are a great place to find clothes for a great price. Typically a Mom2Mom sale consists of several moms (or parents) with "booths" in a gym or building when they are all selling their own items. This is also a great way to sell old clothes and toys (if you don't give them away).

Thrift Stores - This can be very hit and miss, but if you have a good eye you can often pick up decent clothes for a cheap price. The trick with this is to know the average retail price on items so you can tell if the prices are good deals.

Regular Retail Outlets - If you keep an eye for sales and BOGO offers you can often find good deals at regular retail outlets as well. Old Navy, Walmart, The Children's Place all offer great deals on children's clothes.

eBay/Online - Online shopping is huge these days, take advantage of this and review sites like ebay to see if you can find what you want and need.

Kijiji/Craigslist - Proceed at your own risk, but at times parents will post garbage bags of clothes for sale, and sometimes to even give away on these free classified sites.

Kids are a blessing, give them everything they need, just find the best possible price to do it!
